Pier Information
Guests will be taken ashore via tender. The resort’s center can be
reached on foot in about 10 minutes. Taxis are usually available in
limited numbers. |

Shopping. Store hours are from 10 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Gorlero Avenue, a 10-minute walk
from the pier, comprises the major shopping area, with shops offering
leather goods, semi-precious jewelry with agates and amethysts, and
knitwear. The new Punta Shopping Mall is open every day from 10 a.m. to
10 p.m. |

Cuisine. Restaurants offer anything from typical local dishes to
seafood and excellent French and Italian cuisine. |

Other Sights
San Rafael Hotel. Most of Punta del Este’s international
events take place at this elegant hotel.
Barra de Maldonado. This quaint village is the site of an
unusual hanging bridge, and brightly colored colonial buildings and
antique shops.
San Rafael District. Driving along the tree-lined coast you
can view numerous posh estates.
Conrad Casino & Resort. This Las Vegas-like casino and
hotel complex were inaugurated recently.
Sporting Activities. Swimming, boating, fishing, golf and
horseback riding are available. |
